THE ORIGIN

THE ORIGIN

It was in 1906 when Marco Zanazzo bought his first homesteads in the commune of Cessalto, Treviso region, not far from the forest of Olmé. These homesteads with farmsteads got the names of Ca' Marco and Ca' Anna. Their total surface that till nowadays is considered to be the heart of the estate, amounted to thirty hectares. After Marco’s death his property was divided among his 9 children until in 1962 his son Guido, who inherited the homestead Ca’ Anna, has not bought the homestead Ca’ Marco from one of his brothers, to reconstruct it as it was at the very beginning.

THE GROWTH

THE GROWTH

In the 1960s the growth of the estate started thanks to Guido Zanazzo’s decision who, being stimulated by his son Giorgio’s passion to the land – the actual owner, kept on acquiring the agricultural lands till 1990 when the total surface of the estate reached 113 hectares. The estate Ca' Matilde with its 25 hectares of land and a beautiful farmhouse constructed in the beginning of the 1800s was the most significant procurement that was made in 1963.

THE DEVELOPMENT

THE DEVELOPMENT

Starting from the 1990s when Giorgio ran the business, a number of noteworthy investments have been made in order to modernize the enterprise and to render it more competitive on the market: basically from extensive agriculture the company moved to the intensive one. From 2000 the main business is concentrated on vineyards of grey pinot and prosecco and on orchards, first of all of kiwi and then apples.

TODAY

TODAY

G. M. Zanazzo’s farm estate with its 114 hectares of land, 35 of vineyard (Grey Pinot, Prosecco, Black Pinot, Traminer, Cabernet and Sauvignon), 8 hectares of apple-trees represents a splendid reality in a rich and varied agricultural scenery of Treviso. The historical estates Ca' Marco, with the head office and the home of the proprietor, and Ca'Anna remain the center of the enterprise. In 2012 a decision was made to prolong the manufacturing and commercial spinneret where a part of Prosecco, Grey Pinot, Traminer, Black Pinot and Cabernet wines is bottled and sold directly. That initiative of Guido, Giorgio’s son, gave birth to the brand “CA' MATILDE “ from which all wines of Zanazzo enterprise got their names. The wine warehouse and the wine shop are situated exactly in the estate Ca' Matilde, Guido’s present residence.
